Chinese laborers are building an enormous extension whose principal tower is longer than Europe's tallest structure - the London Shard high rise.

The Pingtang Bridge, which will cost 1.5 billion yuan (197 million euros), is 2135 meters in length and associates two urban areas in the farming territory of Guangzhou.

The office has three towers, the principal tower ascending at a bewildering tallness of 332 meters, 26 meters higher than Chard in London (309 meters) and 32 meters over the Eiffel Tower in Paris (300 meters).

However, the impressive Pingtang Tower is 11 meters shorter than the French Moyo Viaduct Bridge (343 meters), the world's longest bridge in structural height.
Workers are expected to complete construction of the eight-lane bridge by the end of this year - after a 3.5-year construction period, according to Xinhua.

China is also building the world's longest two-story suspension bridge - Yangsigang, across the Yangtze River in downtown Wuhan

The bridge is 1700 meters long and will cost 8 billion yuan (1.05 billion US dollars). Construction is expected to be completed in October.

In recent years, Chinese engineers have created many architectural marvels in the field of bridges.

Last October, the world's longest sea bridge opened to traffic in southern China.

The huge Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macao consists of 22.9 kilometers of sea and a 6.7-kilometer-long underwater tunnel linking the bridge to two industrial islands.

In 2016, Chinese workers completed an impressive mountain bridge, the highest bridge in the world.

Beibangjiang, which rises above 563 meters, connects two of China's most remote provinces - Yunnan and Guangzhou.
